About Innovation Station
Innovation Station is a hands-on STEM experience designed to empower participants to explore, create, and learn through the engineering design process.
What started as Creative Arena has evolved into Innovation Station—a program focused on building creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills through engaging, high-energy experiences where students brainstorm, build, and battle their own creations.
Structured 90-minute experiences where students build, test, and compete with their own Create-O-Bots.
My Story
My name is Adam Maitland, and I founded Innovation Station to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for students.
As an educator, I saw firsthand the need for more opportunities where students could actively engage in learning—not just through instruction, but through building, experimenting, and working together to solve problems.
Innovation Station was created to give everyone that opportunity in a fun, structured, and memorable way.

30 minutes testing and competing in challenges
Sessions are designed to be fun, engaging, and educational.
-
A Create-O-Bot is a custom-built structure designed and constructed on top of a remote-controlled vehicle. Participants use a simple base and a variety of materials to build creative solutions that can compete in challenges—such as popping balloons, knocking out targets, and interacting with other bots.
Each Create-O-Bot is unique, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
-
Participants develop real-world STEM skills through hands-on experience, including:
Problem-solving
Critical thinking
Creativity
Collaboration
Resilience through trial and improvement
Participants also explore key physical science concepts such as force, motion, and stability.
-
Each session is built around the engineering design process, giving students the opportunity to think and work like engineers.
Students:
Ask questions
Imagine solutions
Plan their designs
Create their builds
Test and improve
This aligns with STEM learning standards and helps students apply classroom concepts in a real-world, engaging environment.
